Community Spotlight: Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia, Nashville, TN

Formation: One year postulancy, one year novitiate, three years initial profession, two further years in initial profession, perpetual profession
Vows: Poverty, chastity and obedience
Practices: Divine Office, daily Rosary
History: Established in 1860 as the dream of the then bishop. Four sisters from another community were asked to form an academy for young women. The sisters named their new foundation St. Cecilia's Academy due to the bishops desire for the school to focus on music and fine arts. The congregation has a bookstore which sells St. Cecilia medals, books on Christian Art and a CD made my the sisters.
