History: Born to a poor family as the fifth of eight children, her mother died when she was a child. She was educated by the Sisters of St. Rita and was considered to be intelligent and excelled at school. She wanted to be a Passionist nun, but her poor health and her visions meant she was rejected. After her father died she took care of her siblings and worked as a housekeeper to support them, and she became a Passionist tertiary. She received the stigmata but her mysticism was viewed skeptically even by her own confessor. She died from tuberculosis at 25.
